Our Visit To Blum Austria - 2022

In June 2022, Danny Wood (Managing Director) and Adam Stannard (Head of Technical) were invited to visit Blum's headquarters in Austria for a tour of their production facilities. Arbor Lane has partnered with Blum from 2020 using their mechanism exclusively in our bespoke furniture. Blum has an exceptional reputation for quality and excellence and, by visiting, our team can gain greater insight into their business and develop meaningful working relationships.

Blum has eight production sites in Austria, and additional factories located in Poland, Brazil, and the USA. Blum supplies furniture specialist fittings and distributes products in more than 120 countries. During their visit, Danny and Adam were given an informative tour around Blum's factories and showrooms

Quality is a key part of the Blum promise, which gives a lifetime guarantee for all their mechanisms. High-quality steel is brought in by the ton (with nearly 2,000 tons arriving every week), this is the same type of steel used by the German automotive industry, the gold standard in quality. Every product is tested to destruction giving the Blum team the best information on how confident they are in the products but also how to improve those that do not meet their rigorous standards.

One thing Danny and Adam noted was how fast the development process was in Blum with one new patent taken out every two weeks. The pace of innovation and passion for product was something that struck a chord for our team and matches the Arbor Lane ethos for continuous improvement and excellence in product!
